Seismic Hazard Assessment

LandTech’s Seismic Hazard and Risk Engineering group specializes in probabilistic seismic hazard and risk analyses of critical structures. Our team includes experts who have developed and applied passive seismic recording methods to estimate foundation properties and measure resonant frequencies and modal damping to support dynamic analyses of the seismic performance of these structures.

LandTech also has the equipment and expertise to estimate site-specific shear-wave velocities required for modern ground motion prediction relations. Our experts have developed many of the techniques and computer codes widely used today for seismic ground motion estimation, hazard analysis, and estimation of economic losses from earthquakes and other natural hazards.

  • Seismic Risk and Hazard Study
  • Synthetic Records Generation
  • Vulnerability and Fragility Study
  • Soil Survey and Terrain Selection for Projects
  • Site Spectrum and Seismic Microzonation Maps
  • Probable Maximum Loss Estimation

In certain cases, such as construction of major projects (e.g. Nuclear Power Plants, Dams, City Planning, Seismic Scenarios), LandTech’s engineers can perform detailed site specific seismic hazard assessments.
